SCADA standard function includes an alarm indicated to the operator by several visual means (eg: alarm text line or window, flashing symbols, etc.)
Depending on the type of facility, the operator requires additional information about the faults emerged, such as number or duration, in order to evaluate the operating state of the facility.
ProWin® and its PV definitions, archiving functions and free protocols provide the opportunity to realize fault statistics.
The following image shows a sample process image. Archived values are presented in figures, statistic data in diagrams. |
Furthermore, buttons for alarm acknowledgement and manual reset of the event- and time counter were implemented. |
Realization:
- By means of the data model "time- and event counter", the selected alarm process variables were defined as an input PV (measurement PV).
- Time- and event counters were combined in a separate PV group.
- This PV group defines a new archive which is gradable corresponding to the fault statistics parameters; e.g: daily or monthly statistics.
- For data presentation a free protocol was selected in this example, using process image visualization.
- This solution allows a process image showing data in figures as well as diagrams based on the level-indicator image type.

Further solutions including direct printer logging and archive data resets can be realized with ProWin® standard functionality. |
