Topological Colouring and Power Flow Calculation
Example: Stadtwerke Langen GmbH:

Stadtwerke Langen is a communal supplier for electricity and natural gas.

Take-over of the new ProWin® control system at the end of 2003.

Following requirements of Stadtwerke were realized:
  • Redundant construction of SCADA system to increase availability
  • Using standard PC hardware and operating system Windows/NT
  • Clear display of electricity and gas facilities on multiple screen systems
  • Direct link to existing Geadat U120 remote stations
  • Direct link to existing ripple control unit RMR-2
  • Event display controlled by system via U120
  • Cost optimization for delivery of electricity and natural gas
  • Topological colouring of electricity network with short circuit and earth fault indication
  • Power flow calculation and up-to-date visualization in network images
  • Workstation for training and simulation
  • Logging of daily, monthly and annual balance values of gas facilities in Stadtwerke protocol layout
  • Archive of measured values and messages, values compressible
  • SCADA system is simple to operate, data administration by Stadtwerke personnel
